CHAPTER 11

I rushed in the house and dialed Taj’s number; I had to tell her about Rita. It didn’t take her long to answer the phone and I was eager to talk.

“What up Jo?” she spoke into the phone.

“Girl why Rita ass still talking shit?”

“You lying,” she replied.

“Nope the bitch was on some real hater shit. I support everybody but she acting as if I owe her something,” I stated.

“Girl I don’t know what her problem is, I don’t know how you deal with her ass on a daily.”

“Shit I don’t know either. I am just trying to not show my ass at my daughter’s school. For one it’s ghetto, and for two you know that’s not my get down.”

“I know that’s not you, but something has to give. You tried to be nice, then we went hood, but the bitch keep antagonizing you. She need her ass stomped the fuck out,” Taj spat.

That’s what I loved about my girl Taj. She played the sweet and innocent role well, and people would never guess she was a step away from being crazy as me. She could wild out on your ass quick as fuck.

“I feel you girl, I just don’t know what the hell her problem is. I promoted the hoe’s books when I thought we were cool, but I guess she wanted me to sell them too,” I let out a slight giggle.

I didn’t understand why our community couldn’t just be happy for one another. I was just like everyone else; some days were great sales days and others not so much. Shit they call us starving artist for a reason.

Taj and I shot the breeze a little while longer then both realized we had to prepare dinner for our families. We ended our call and began to text; yeah we were petty like that. I never got a chance to start dinner because Tywanda called and I sat right back down.

“Hey honey,” I said.

“Hey Coco, what you doing?” Ty replied.

“I was about to cook but you saved me,” I laughed.

“Glad I could help,” she giggled.

“What’s up honey?”

“Just was calling to check on you,” she stated.

I filled Ty in on the latest Rita fiasco and she was extremely shocked that Rita was still on some bullshit. Now if you didn’t know Tywanda was the meekest one out of all of us. Now don’t get me wrong she just as looney as the rest, but with her you never see her coming. The rest of us were hot heads always ready to blow, but Ty would gut you and leave you wondering who did it.

“Oh so she wants me to come back to California,” Tywanda added.

“No I got this, but this time if I have to get physical I’m going to show her how true them stories about the Browns are,” I said with a smirk.

“Your ass grinning huh?” Ty wondered.

“Yep,” I said as I fell out laughing.

“I knew your ass was,” she joined me in my laughter.

We talked about her next release, Love Games 3 and I was super amped about the release.
